Stolen Dump Truck in Yuba County Irrigation District Recovered; 53-year-old man arrested – CBS Sacramento



RACKERBY (CBS13) – An investigation into a stolen dump truck has led MPs to a hideout of other stolen vehicles in Yuba County.

On October 29, a brazen burglary was filmed in the Browns Valley Irrigation District. The thieves broke into the neighborhood yard and managed to leave with a dump truck, along with a long list of tools.

Yuba County Sheriff’s detectives later learned that the stolen landfill was spotted at a property along the 7600 block of Silva Path in the community of Rackerby.

Detectives served a search warrant on this Silva Path property on Friday. Authorities not only discovered the stolen dump truck, according to the sheriff’s office, but also a stolen pontoon in Butte County, a stolen tanker in San Jose and a stolen camper trailer in Redding.

Hubert Townshend, 53, was arrested in connection with the case. He was held in Yuba County Jail and faces charges of possession of stolen property and car theft.

In total, approximately $ 40,000 of stolen property was recovered. However, detectives say they are still looking for more stolen goods related to the suspect.
